  • Support the development of an online database of out-of-school time opportunities at the neighborhood and community level to ensure parents have access to program information, graduation coaches can refer students to appropriate programs, and communities can effectively meet the out-of-school time needs of youth.
  • Support a pilot program for schools to extend the school day to implement expanded learning options that incorporate the principles of out-of-school time such as inclusion of project-based and experiential learning; time for enrichment activities including physical activity, arts and music; collaboration with community programs and resources; and a commitment to positive youth development.
  • Support scholarships and incentives for afterschool providers to participate in high-quality professional development and pursue credentials and post-secondary education in order to improve the quality of programs available to our children and youth during out-of-school time hours.
